A business door needs to close, latch, lock, and let people leave reliably. When it starts dragging or sticking, check the opening as well as the hardware.
When a business door starts sticking
Storefront, office, and back doors often get regular use. If a lock, closer, or exit device starts failing, the door can become hard to use or fail to latch as it should.
Blue Key works on the hardware that keeps commercial doors secure and working properly. That includes locks, cylinders, closers, panic hardware, exit devices, and access control.
Repair it or replace it?
Not every problem means you need new hardware. Sometimes a door just needs an adjustment, a new cylinder, or a repair to get it working properly again.
If the hardware is worn out, damaged, or simply not right for the way the door is being used, we’ll explain what needs to change and why before replacing anything.
Match the hardware to the door
The right hardware depends on the opening, how people enter and leave, and any building or fire-safety requirements that apply.
Work might involve a new cylinder, a closer adjustment, compatible exit hardware, or a keypad. An exit device should be chosen for the door and applicable requirements, not added as a generic upgrade.
Check the door as well as the lock
A door that drags or does not close properly can wear out otherwise sound hardware. Repairing the opening may be more useful than simply changing the lock.
We can check the door and hardware, then explain what can be repaired and what needs a different part.
