Lock Installation

Ready for an upgrade?

Lock Installation in Dallas-Fort Worth

Need to add a deadbolt or replace an existing lock? We can prep and drill new holes or install replacement locks using what’s already there. Every key, latch, and bolt is tested before we leave.

Replacement Door Locks

We check the holes and door thickness before replacing a knob, lever, or deadbolt so the new parts actually fit.

New Deadbolt Openings

No deadbolt yet? On a suitable door, we can bore the opening and prepare the frame for a new one.

Cabinet and Drawer Locks

A cam lock can add keyed access to an uncut cabinet or drawer when there's room for the cylinder and catch.

Latch and Strike Alignment

We line up the latch or bolt with the strike and test it with the door shut, not just while it's standing open.

Choosing and Fitting Your New Locks

Replacing an existing lock

Many replacements use the holes already in the door. We check door thickness, hole size, and latch position before picking the new hardware.

If you’ve already bought a lock, send us the model and a photo of the door. We’ll flag a fit issue before the old one comes off.

Adding a deadbolt to a door without one

Adding a deadbolt means preparing the door face, its edge, and the frame. We measure the position and spacing before drilling so the deadbolt clears the existing handle.

Not every door should be drilled the same way. Construction, thickness, existing glass, and spacing determine whether that hardware will fit.

Adding a lock to a cabinet or drawer

A cam lock can give a previously unlocked cabinet or drawer a keyed closure. We measure the panel and the space behind it to choose the right cylinder length and cam.

The cam also needs somewhere to catch when the door shuts. We check that before making the hole.

Choose between keys, codes, and cabinet locks

A keyed deadbolt, lever, keypad, and cam lock solve different problems. Tell us who needs access, how often the opening is used, and whether you’d rather have keys or codes.

If you want the new lock on the same key as your other doors, the keyways need to match. We’ll tell you when that’s possible.

Test it with the door closed

A new lock should latch without pulling, lifting, or leaning on the door. We check the bolt and strike when the door is shut, not just while it’s standing open.

We test the key or code and the way the door or drawer opens and closes before we’re done.

Before you book

Planning a Lock Installation?

Can you install a lock where there isn't one now?

Yes, on suitable doors and panels. A fresh deadbolt needs door and frame preparation; a cam lock needs the right panel thickness and space behind it. We measure before drilling.

Can you replace a deadbolt I already have?

Usually. We check the existing holes, door thickness, latch, and strike before fitting the replacement. If the door is out of line, a new deadbolt alone won't fix it.

Can you add a lock to a cabinet, drawer, or storage area?

Often, yes. A cam lock can be fitted even when there isn't a hole yet, as long as the panel and space behind it can support the cylinder and cam.

Can I provide my own lock hardware?

Yes, if it fits the door or panel and how you'll use it. Send us the model and photos of the opening so we can check compatibility before installing it.

How do you choose the right type of lock for a new installation?

We look at the material, thickness, available space, and who needs access. A deadbolt, keypad, lever, and cabinet cam lock are built for different openings.
