Ari in 2006, the year he started locksmithing.
How it started
One Van, One Rekey Kit, and a Rule About Doing It Right.
Ari started locksmithing in 2006 and spent years learning the trade. Along the way, he saw how often customers were left with confusing prices, unnecessary upsells, and no idea who was actually coming to their door. Blue Key grew out of a simple idea: be upfront, do good work, and treat people right.
What started with Ari and an old white van grew into a family business serving homeowners and businesses across North Texas. We still keep things small on purpose. When you call Blue Key, you're talking to the people doing the work, not a dispatcher sending out whoever happens to be available. The tools and the van have changed since those early days, the rule hasn't: do good work, be straight with people, and leave every door better than we found it.
What we believe
The Lock is the Easy Part.
Inviting someone into your home or business is personal, and we want the experience to feel right from the moment we arrive. We work the way we’d want someone to work in our own home, with care for the space and respect for the person who opened the door. The lock may be the reason we’re there, but the way the whole visit feels matters just as much. If we do our job right, you’ll know exactly who to call next time.
Care starts at the front door.
Meet the crew
You Know Who You're Calling. And Who's Showing Up.
Blue Key isn't a dispatch center with a rotating list of technicians. You're dealing directly with us, from the first conversation through the finished job.
Ari
Founder & Master Locksmith
19 YEARS IN THE TRADE
Ari is the locksmith behind Blue Key and the one you'll most often reach when you call. With more than 20 years in the trade, he's learned that the difference is usually in the details. If you're calling Blue Key about a job, there's a good chance you're talking directly to the person who will be doing the work. No dispatcher required.
Tanya
Marketing & Social Media
Tanya helps keep Blue Key looking like it actually exists in the 21st century. She occasionally handles marketing, social media, photos and the many little things that happen behind the scenes of a family business. She may not be the person showing up with a drill, but she's definitely part of the reason you heard about us in the first place.
Diego
Camera Duty
Diego is usually the guy behind the camera, which means he's responsible for a surprising percentage of the photos you'll see around here. Family pictures, Blue Key pictures, pictures nobody knew were being taken, he's always got a camera nearby. He's not out installing locks, but if you see a suspiciously good photo of us doing it, there's a pretty good chance Diego took it.
Evelyn
Family & Quality Control
Evelyn has a useful quality in a family business, she'll tell you what she actually thinks. If something looks good, she'll say so. If it doesn't, we'll hear about that too. She's usually the one asking the questions the rest of us forgot to ask.
Before we leave
The Final Check, Together.
Before we leave, we make sure each lock works properly and that you’re comfortable using it. Every job ends with a complimentary lock and security check.
Test It Together.
We check that the locks, keys, and hardware we worked on operate properly. For door work, we test it open and closed, and show you how everything should work.
Your Complimentary Check.
We’ll point out security concerns we notice and explain anything that may deserve another look. You’ll know what needs attention and what can wait.
Advice Without Pressure.
We explain what was done and answer your remaining questions. You decide what to address next, with honest advice and no pressure to buy more.
Part of the neighborhood
This Is Our Home, Too.
We’re based right here in Little Elm, and the same communities we work in are the ones we call home. We shop at the same stores, drive the same roads, and regularly find ourselves doing work for someone we’ve met before.
That keeps things pretty simple for us. Treat people well, do work you’re proud to put your name on, and take care of every home or business like you’ll probably see that customer again.
Blue Key Locksmith is proud to call Little Elm home.
